I love fashion especially around this time of year when the sun is still shining, it’s warm enough to go outside for a walk and it’s the start of a new routine. Before Pinterest and the internet I used to buy the 700 page Vogue magazine and read it cover to cover searching for the newest trends and accessories for fall. Now my focus is on finding the best classic accessories that can fit into my busy schedule as a working mom.
As I get older, I’m realizing that style and fashion do become more important. It’s no longer about the brand name of your jeans as you walk down the hall in school, but rather, it’s about how well put together you are for work and other events. With this realization, comes the need to go shopping! My style is very simple, classic and basic. In my mind you can’t go wrong with a classic jeans, top and sweater combo especially when you add in great shoes, a gorgeous scarf and a stunning purse.
Now that so much shopping is online, I find I’m often browsing around websites. Lately, my focus has been on accessories for fall and here are a few of my favourite classic accessories.

I’m a fan of flats since I can run around after R in them without completely ruining my feet. I’m also a bit old school in my style, I prefer ballet flats to super trendy shoes that I may never wear again. I prefer quality over quantity and tend to buy items that may be a bit more expensive but will last me a long time.
I’ve always loved these classic Tory Burch flats and have gone through quite a few pairs myself over the years. They usually stand up pretty well despite lots of wear and tear.
I also love these Chole scalloped edge flats. I have a very similar pair from JCrew that I don’t think they sell anymore. The colour is also super versatile and can match with almost anything in your wardrobe.
Since a girl’s gotta dream I’ll also add these classic Valentino pointed toed flats to my list. A new classic for sure!
Purses have always been my weakness. I think it’s because I grew up with a mom who always told me that a girl could never have too many pairs of shoes or too many purses! Again, I’ve always had classic taste when it comes to purses as well. Now I just need to consider if whatever purse I buy can hold Lego, colouring books, sunscreen and anything else my son might need.
Right now a good tote is the best option for me. Cute, stylish and big enough to fit all of R’s stuff! Here are some great options for fall:
This gorgeous leather Rebecca Minkoff tote in a perfect colour for fall.
A classic Kate Spade nylon tote is always fashionable no matter what the season.
On the dream wish list has to be this stunning Prada Saffiano leather tote. In my opinion this is one of the most gorgeous and classic accessories for any woman.

I’m a big fan of cozy warm scarves. Perfect for keeping you warm outside and great if your office is on the chilly side. Depending on the size of the scarf you can also wear it without a jacket if it’s not too cold.
Pretty scarves are also great ways to add a pop of colour to your outfit. If you decide it’s too much, just change the scarf!
Here are some I’m loving this season:
This one is great for fall and the colours are very deep and beautiful. You could easily wear it with jeans and a plain top and look super pulled together.
If you’re looking for something a bit brighter, check out this beautiful scarf. On top of the pretty states of pink in this scarf it’s also super warm since it’s a mix of cashmere and wool. Amazing for cold Canadian winters.
On my girl’s gotta dream wish list is this stunning Etro cashmere scarf. I love the colours and I can only imagine how soft and warm it is.
