In addition to being a mom and wife, I work full time and blog on the side. While my current work environment is much more relaxed than my old law firm, I still have many priorities competing for my time and need to make life as easy as possible. With all of my experiences in mind, I’ve come up with a few items that help make a professional woman’s life a bit easier whether she works at home, in an office or is taking a break to care for her family. These presents are great any time of year – the holidays, a birthday, Mother’s Day or just because.

A Large Roomy Tote
My go to purse is the Longchamp Large Le Pliage Tote. It comes in a variety of awesome colours, has lots of room and is waterproof. Having a waterproof purse is key in Canada since I often find myself schlepping around a laptop computer in the snow.
In addition, the price point is pretty decent for such a high quality bag. Plus Longchamp’s customer service is amazing. If something goes wrong with one of your purses just take it back to the store (even if you didn’t purchase it there) and they’ll help fix it.
This bag is large enough for my computer, phones (yes I have two), planner, wallet, sunglasses case and almost anything I can stuff inside. Since it’s nylon it’s very light on its own, which is helpful because I’m always carrying around so much stuff!
Other great options:
- Tory Burch York Buckle Tote
- Rebecca Minkoff Always on Regan Tote
- Kate Spade Orchard Street Maya Leather Tote
A Pretty Day Planner
I really like my Kate Spade day planner. It’s pretty and has a lot of space for me to write down my never ending to do list. I also like how sturdy it is. I don’t need to worry about water spilling in my bag from my son’s water bottle (happens all the time) since my planner will be up for the task. It also has great inside pockets that can store lots of notes and papers.
Travel Document Holder
We travel a fair bit and I know lots of other professional women who travel way more often. I’ve always thought a passport holder is such an elegant accessory to carry around. Our airline tickets might online and accessible by our smart phones, but I don’t think our passports will ever get to that point. A passport cover in a fun colour is a way to go back in time a bit to when things were a bit simpler.
I particularly like this passport holder because it can be monogrammed and this green colour is so bright it’s easy to find in a big roomy purse.
