My son and husband are both obsessed with hockey. I guess it’s part of being a Canadian – we love hockey and always say “sorry” :). If you’re having trouble finding a gift for your hockey obsessed child, I’m here to help.

My son has this toy and loves it. The set comes with stickers for all of the NHL teams so your child can decide which teams play against each other. If your child has a favourite player, he/she can also add that player’s number to the back of the jerseys.
The players stick on to these special stands so that kids can pull back the stick and shoot the puck, which is super fun. To round out the set, Playmobil also has a Zamboni, a Stanley Cup and additional players.
This toy is always out in our house ready for my son’s latest match up!
E is from Montreal and has been a Canadiens fan his entire life. Since E bleeds bleu, blanc et rouge (blue, white and red – the Canadiens’ team colours), R cheers for them as well.
Last year my father in law bought R a Canadiens jersey with his name on the back. It is so cute and R just loves wearing it. He wears it to school all the time and used it as his jersey for the first few weeks of hockey season.
These jerseys can be expensive but if you buy one that’s a bit bigger, it will last that much longer.
We love reading in our house. If the subject of the book is hockey, all the better! Some of R’s favourites include:
When R was little we had one of these in our breakfast room – also known as R’s playroom. He loved playing hockey shooting goals and calling the plays at the same time.
R’s a bit too big for this type of set now so we’ve dismantled it, but if you have a young one who is a hockey obsessed child this would be a great present!
If your son/daughter is playing hockey, the proper equipment is a must including the helmet, neck guard, gloves and other protective gear.
R would love this! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) our current home isn’t big enough to accommodate such a large Foosball table. I’m sure if we eventually move we’ll be getting one of these in the basement for R and E to play on together.
Is your child obsessed with hockey or another sport?
