Momlife is awesome and amazing in many ways. We are blessed to have little ones running around exploring the world and wiping their runny noses on our sweaters. With all of this wonderfulness come struggles as well. Feelings of exhaustion, stress, guilt and lack of control are common. I find that balancing all of these priorities and time management are key to enjoying being a mom and doing the best job you can.
Are you like me?
Every day I find myself struggling with time management. It’s hard to balance being a mom, working full time, blogging and life in general. I have a few of my own tactics to assist with managing my family calendar and keeping all of our paper clutter relatively organized, but I’m always open to learning more.

This is where my friend Emily Bendler of The Multitasking Mom comes in. Emily recently wrote an amazing book focused on exactly this topic. Take Back Your Time: How to Become a Motivated Time Saving Mama (“TBYT”). In the book, Emily provides simple and actionable steps to manage your time, create worthwhile goals and even how to create meal plans to make your life (and your family’s members’ lives) easier.
TBYT is an easy and quick read. In 20 short chapters Emily covers loads of helpful tips.
I really appreciate her ability to put herself first, whether it be in terms of finding time to exercise or figuring out how to say no to responsibilities she just can’t take on. This is something I struggle with on a daily basis and really need to work on.
Emily also suggests that to stay organized we put old fashioned pen to paper in journals, calendars and planners. I totally agree with this advice. I’m a huge fan of writing things down and never leave home with out my day planner. You can check out my Facebook live video below as I unbox my 2018 Happy Planner for the first time!
If you’re looking to improve your time management skills and learn some new helpful techniques, then you should check out Emily’s book. It’s inexpensive, can go right on your Kindle or iPad and is a quick and easy read. I’m sure that within the first few chapters you’ll find some new tips to implement right away!
