Fantastic Podcasts for New Bloggers

Sharing is caring!

  • Share
  • Tweet

I’m a huge fan of podcasts. I listen to them while traveling to and from work, at the gym and while I’m grocery shopping. Podcasts are a great way to learn and grow while doing chores that don’t require too much intense thought. Since the time I have to blog and learn about blogging is somewhat limited, I’ve started to focus on listening to social media podcasts and podcasts for new bloggers.

I decided to revamp this post from a while back and provide a really thorough ultimate list of podcasts for new bloggers! I hope you can find some inspiration here.

Check out this epic list of podcasts for new bloggers for some excellent and informative podcasts from The Professional Mom Project

Podcasts for New Bloggers

The Pro Blogger Podcast

Darren Rowse’s Pro Blogger podcast is the first blogging podcast I listened to last year. It was this podcast that inspired me to move forward and create a blog.

Darren shares practical, realistic tips and has a great Aussie accent! The podcasts are primarily him giving helpful advice. The podcasts are easy to understand whether you’re a new blogger or if you’ve been doing it for a while. He has a great way of explaining more complex concepts in simple terms.

Simple Pin Podcast

The Simple Pin Podcast by Kate Ahl focuses entirely on, you guessed it, Pinterest and how to use it for your blog. SPP is pretty new but deserves a spot on my best podcasts for new bloggers list because Pinterest can play such an important role in bringing traffic to a new blog.

Create if Writing

Kirsten Oliphant is the writer and podcaster behind Create if Writing. Her whole objective is to give her readers and listeners great blogging tips without being smarmy. She is easy to relate to and provides very practical and helpful tips while also appealing to my creative side.

Boss Girl Creative

Taylor Bradford is the creator behind this informative podcast. She also has a great Facebook group for her listeners and followers. Taylor is a real powerhouse. She runs several businesses, works full time, blogs and finds time to broadcast a podcast each week.

The Boss Girl Creative podcast is full of excellent tips on everything from learning to blog as a new blogger to the complexities of search engine optimization and disclosure laws. Taylor has an amazing way of breaking down complex ideas into simple understandable snippets.

For more see –> Secrets of Blogging Success – A Review of Traffic Transformation

The Blogger Genius Podcast

The Blogger Genius Podcast is a newer podcast on the scene and is hosted by Jillian Leslie who is the founder of MiloTree and Catch my Party. As the creator of a super successful website and a great blogging tool, Jillian is uniquely situated in the blogging industry and is able to invite amazing guests on her podcast each week.

As I write this blog post there are only 14 episodes but I’ve already binge listened to all of them!

Influencer Entrepreneurs Podcast

Jenny Melrose has two successful blogs and now a podcast specifically for bloggers looking to turn their blogs into a business. Jenny’s Influencer Entrepreneurs Podcast covers a wide variety of blogging topics including monetization strategies, traffic tips and keys to avoid blogger overwhelm.

In addition to the podcast, Jenny has an active Facebook group for podcast listeners where she goes live each week to discuss different topics and answer questions.

The Blog Millionaire

Brandon Gaily who runs the Blog Millionaire podcast has a crazy life story having come back from a major illness to creating a huge blogging empire. His podcasts are short and sweet but very informative. These are podcasts you want to listen to with a notebook and pen in hand.

I find that Brandon tends to use the podcast to promote his products/affiliates but he’s open about it and discloses all of these relationships. While I personally don’t love being sold to all the time I understand and respect the use of the platform for promos.

Do You Even Blog

The Do You Even Blog podcast is the brainchild of Pete McPherson, a former accountant turned blogger. Pete’s podcast is honest, authentic and really helpful for bloggers at all stages in the game. Pete is learning along with us and that’s what makes it so fun. He’s also been able to get some fantastic interviews with people like John Lee Dumas, Rosemarie Groner and Michelle Schroeder-Gardner.

The Influencer Podcast

Julie Solomon’s podcast is also fairly new on the scene although she’s been in the influencer marketing space for a long time as a publicist in New York. I find this podcast is more focused on Instagram and branding rather than the nitty gritty of blogging. Since I struggle with these concepts, I always learn something new when listening to the podcast.

Amy Porterfield’s Online Marketing Made Easy

I’m not sure why, but I find Amy Porterfield’s voice so calming and relaxing even when she’s talking about Facebook marketing and content creation. Amy has been in the online marketing space for a while and really knows her stuff. She’s got over 200 episodes where she talks about both her successes and failures. It’s always a breath of fresh air to hear about people’s challenges and how they overcome them.

Blogging your Passion

Jonathan Milligan and his team at Blogging your Passion have a goal of helping 1000 bloggers go full time with their businesses in 5 years. A lofty goal I think!

The podcast is a great start since it offers lots of great advice for bloggers at all different stages. Who knows, maybe I’ll be one of those 1000 bloggers 😉

Blogging with Leslie

I first learned about Leslie Samuel while listening to an episode of Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income podcast. Leslie’s style is friendly, humorous and easy to relate to.

His original blog helps students learn about biology in a unique and interactive way. He now runs a blogging website and his podcast – Learning with Leslie.

I find Leslie’s tips to be very practical and straightforward. He often interviews other successful bloggers who tell their stories and give tips on how to succeed at blogging. Because of his teaching background, Leslie sets his points out in a logical way and at the end of each section does a short recap of what’s been covered. I find this super useful since it helps me remember all of the points he’s made during the podcast.

I find myself always learning and looking to up my blogging game. These are a few of the podcasts for new bloggers that I’ve found helpful along the way. I’m already working on Fantastic Podcasts for New Bloggers Part II and hope to post it soon to give everyone even more inspiration!

Hi Ashley – thanks very much for your comment. I know there are so many amazing podcasts and so little time that’s why I tend to listen to them on my drive to and from work, at the gym, at the grocery store etc.

I have only recently learned the beauty of a podcast for my commute, so this is right up my alley! I had been looking for blogging podcasts in particular (which seemed hard to find for some reason). Thanks for sharing. I have to subscribed to as many as I could figure out how to add to my iTunes account.

I also enjoy Leslie Samuel and Darren Rowse; they both have an engaging delivery and offer practical, easy to understand ideas and advice. I have just this weekend discovered another helpful podcast, I Teach Blogging by Renee Groskreutz; she concentrates on blogging with WordPress.

Thanks for taking the time to compile this list! I’m working on my own and it seriously takes a lot of work! I’ll be pinning this for sure!

I’ve only listened to podcasts when our own team launched one. Podcasts are actually pretty good. Instead of listening to music all day long while doing my home chores, I play an episode or two.

I have to admit that I’ve never really been bothered about podcasts, but I didn’t know that there were so many educational ones or any ones about blogging. The Pinterest ones sound particularly useful. What a great idea to listen to them while you’re doing mind-numbing chores! Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday.
